My story
Meet Sparkle, the energetic cutie with pretty hair. Most people’s first impression of Sparkle is “Wow! Is she a wolf?” Yes, she can “woof!” but not a wolf. Sparkle is definitely a lovely, yet super friendly dogie! But she’s not that energetic at the very beginning, it took a while to make Sparkle sparkle again. In 2017, Sparkle was rescued from the street during a rainy season, and was moved to PACK eventually. At that time, Sparkle was a bag of bones, all soaked with panic in her eyes. Somehow Sparkle lost her tail (or she was born without a tail), and nobody knows why. Actually, without a tail making her special and unique out of hundreds of dogs at PACK.

Personality
Outgoing, high-spirited, and playful. Sparkle sometimes looks cool but she’s actually very lively and clingy, she usually runs and almost flies towards you to show how much she loves you. She’s always aiming to catch all your attention and care. Fun fact about Sparkle: She loves human over dog, and she prefers girl. Sparkle is companionable, maybe a bit passionate…she plays pretty tricks to compete for your attention, and she gives airplane ears when she gets scolded, you literally can’t say no to this girl! Oh, please keep in mind, Sparkle is a big hug lover!
1
Energy Levels
Sparkle can be extroverted or introverted, depending on the environment and people around her. She is super hyper when surrounded by people she knows well.
2
Temperament
Stranger-friendly, especially girls. When bossy people are nearby, Sparkle tends to make a safety distance, but still, she’s kind to them.
3
Role
Good at following like a shadow. Sparkle is full of curiosity that she becomes a tagalong when she finds someone or something interesting.
4
Adaptability
Sparkle needs 1-2 days to get used to new environments. There’s nothing obvious (few anxious behavior or bark) when she’s adapting.
Foster Family Says
Surprisingly, Sparkle peed on the bed on foster home Day1! But she is a quick learner, she behaves well gradually.
Medical History
My health has been checked:
- Spayed/Neutered
- Microchipped
- Vaccinated
- Regular Worming Treatment
Sparkle has no health issues that we are aware of. She’s healthy and strong!
My Behavior
1
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Any strangers are welcome to pet or stroke Sparkle, execpt for tall guys, sometimes she keeps her distance when tall guys are nearby. (as we mentioned, she prefers girls!)
Dogs
Sparkle is not interested in other dogs. Note: She will be triggered and looks angry when there are other dogs trying to compete for people’s attention.
Cats
It’s okay for Sparkle to get along with cats, but she has no big interest in interacting (after all, she prefers human…).
Kids
As Sparkle prefers human, kids are no exception. Sparkle welcomes anyone who comes to her, petting and stroking.
Noise
Sparkle may be frightened and tremble if there is a sudden shout or noise, but it won't last long.
Touch
100% a big hug lover! Sparkle loves petting, stroking, and snuggling, with no sensitive part.
2
Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
Sparkle barks when she’s excited or feels lonely. Just for a short time.
Seperation Anxiety
This may occur when Sparkle is in a new environment, soon it will get better when she’s getting used to it.
Aggression
No aggression toward humans, but Sparkle may be irritated by dogs of similar size and hyper personalities, especially when they are getting to her. Meanwhile, Sparkle will push other dogs away when they attempt to compete for people’s attention, sometimes it causes a fight.
Resource Guarding
No, Sparkle doesn’t exhibit any resource guarding behaviors.
Destructive Chewing
Never happened. Sparkle never breaks things.
3
Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
